K12 Scholarship Opportunities
No family should assume that a K12-powered private education is out of reach for financial reasons. K12 offers two types of scholarships for students applying to or attending K12 Private Academy (formerly known as K12 International Academy). These are the We Stand Together Scholarship and the K12 Private Academy Scholarship. Eligible students may apply for both but will only be awarded one scholarship if selected.
Students who are awarded a K12 scholarship will also receive the following benefits:
The services and support available to full-time students including academic coaching, engagement monitoring, college counseling, and instructional support from certified teachers.
An assigned mentor who will meet regularly with the student and provide additional support, encouragement, and connections with other resources as necessary.
A laptop computer to use for the duration of the student’s enrollment, a monthly internet reimbursement if needed, and the online and hands-on learning materials available to full-time students
We Stand Together Scholarship
Purpose
At K12, we power "Education for Any ONE." For us, that is more than a tagline—it is an underlying philosophy. We stand with the Black community and we will work to help create real change toward racial equity. This year, we are implementing new scholarships for students in grades K–12 who identify as Black or African American. Each scholarship will cover tuition-free, full-time enrollment for qualified students of color to attend K12 Private Academy this school year.
Eligibility
Your child is eligible to apply if they:
Are in kindergarten through 12th grade
Identify as Black or African American
Have at least a 2.0 GPA (letter grade C on a 4.0 scale or equivalent)
Demonstrate financial need (e.g. qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch)
A subset of these scholarships will be designated for students in grades 6–12 who are interested in Stride Career Prep. Employees of K12 Inc. or its subsidiaries and their immediate family members are not eligible for award.
Selection Process
Applicants will receive an email acknowledgment that their materials were received along with a timetable of the application process. The We Stand Together Scholarships will be awarded following evaluation of the applicant’s materials.
The scholarship committee will rate all required components of application packages
Candidates may be interviewed by phone or Skype before the final selection

K12 Private Academy Scholarship
Purpose
K12 Private Academy awards up to four scholarships for tuition-free, full-time enrollment to new or returning students entering the 9th grade who demonstrate both high academic potential and family financial need.
The K12 Private Academy Scholarship is not currently accepting applications. Students wishing to be considered for one of the scholarships should check back for more information about applying next semester.
Scholarship Renewal
Our goal is to renew K12 Private Academy Scholarships for all four years of high school for the awarded students. Annual scholarship renewal decisions are made based on the student’s engagement and academic progress, and will be determined each May. To be eligible for renewal, students must meet the following criteria:
Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for each scholarship year
Maintain course pacing requirements, completing courses on time without extensions
Meet attendance requirements as identified in the Student Parent Handbook
Participate in all mentoring meetings and activities unless excused by the mentor
Note: This is only for K12 Private Academy Scholarships and does not apply to We Stand Together Scholarships. For questions about the scholarship renewal process, email scholarshipcommittee@K12.com.
